A Mega Weekend at Jeskyns!

The Mega Challenge event is going to be at the lovely Jeskyns Community Woodland. (A minute from the A2 just south of Gravesend in Kent - Google Map).

Each of our Mega Challenge events will have a different twist to them, just trying to encourage, cajole, bribe folk in to pushing themselves that little bit more and providing motivation, encouragement and recognition for doing so! The twist here is for folk doing both events of the weekend, extra bling!

The route is all on good surfaces, a mixture of high quality trail, bike paths and the rest of the trail is pretty decent too! In late Spring should be a really nice run, weather permitting and we'll start off nice and early to beat any potentially hot weather and beat any bank holiday weekend crowds as this is a very popular location! The course is rolling, some gentle slopes, but really nothing too severe at all.

Now the Mega Challenge is going to be a Challenge Event with a difference! Basically the distance you run will determinethe medal you receive... and there is a risk factor involved of possibly not receiving a medal!

1 Lap - 3.28 miles - Goody Bag + Concern that you're OK.
2-3 Laps - 6.55-9.85 miles - Goody Bag + Encouragement to do another lap!
4 Laps - 13.1 miles - Goody Bag + Half Marathon Mega Challenge Medal
5-6 Laps - 16.4-19.65 miles - Goody Bag + Half Marathon Mega Challenge Medal + Are you sure?
7 Laps - 22.95 miles - Goody Bag + Half Marathon Mega Challenge Medal + One more!!!
8 Laps - 26.2 miles - Goody Bag + Full Marathon Mega Challenge Medal
9 Laps+ - 29.5 miles - Goody Bag + Ultra Marathon Mega Challenge Medal

The event will be a six hour timed challenge event. Complete as many loops as you wish within the time limit. Run a half marathon, a marathon, an ultra and earn some Mega bling!

And the twist for this weekend? If you run both days then there is the opportunity to earn extra Mega bling! If you run a Half Marathon both days then the Double Half Marathon medal is yours in addition to the two Half Marathon medals. Full Marathon both days? Then the Double Full Marathon medal is yours... and finally the ultra challenge! Two Ultra Marathons earns you the Ultra Challenge medal. (If you run "uneven doubles" say a Half Marathon and a Full Marathon then you'll earn the Double Half Marathon, or a Full Marathon and an Ultra Marathon the Double Full Marathon.)

And just so the medals don't get too samey, they'll be different colour schemes for each day!

It's our aim that this event makes an impactful difference to the Forestry Commission in a positive fashion and as such £5 from each entry fee will be donated directly to the Park to aid them in maintaining this lovely environment.
