Greg & Janet's Wedding Challenge

For anyone who has done any of our events in the previous couple of years will have met the ever present Janet Foran (helper extraordinaire and marathon runner herself) and Greg Ward (100 Marathon Club member and one of the top runners of the SVN Club for most miles run with us) well in 2016 they are getting married in late May in Ashdown Forest! In celebration of this wonderful occasion we're having a one off event of "SVN on Tour!" Our first event outside of Kent will be in the lovely Ashdown Forest in East Sussex just a mile or so from the venue of the big day itself!

Ashdown Forest is a huge network of heathland, woodland and scrubland in Sussex and we've been very fortunate to be able to secure an event there next May as the happy couple decided to set the date in the middle of the ground nesting bird breeding season (I know, what were they thinking!!), so whilst we have a route agreed (which is mostly woodland), the exact route, or the exact location within Ashdown Forest may ultimately be decided by where any woodlarks or nightjars decide to set up shop for the Spring!

There will of course be some fantastic one off bling for this (Greg has reliably informed us that this won't be an annual event!) and we're going to have strictly limited places too for this eight hour challenge event (Ashdown Forest isn't flat!). The course will be 100% on trail and of course we'll have our usual standard of goody bags and an aid station picnic! All are welcome to complete (don't worry if you don't know Greg & Janet!) as many loops as you wish within the 8 hour time limit, you can run a marathon, an ultra, a half marathon or whatever you wish!

It's our aim that this event makes an impactful difference to Ashdown Forest in a positive fashion and as such £5 from each entry fee will be donated directly to the Park to aid them in maintaining this lovely environment.
