An evening/night run on the Kent Coast

Between Thanet and Sandwich lays a big bay called Pegwell Bay which is famous for two reasons, firstly because of the nationally important Sandwich and Pegwell Bay National Nature Reserve and secondly for the Viking Ship, The Hugin, that rests there in all its recently restored glory. We've been fortunate enough to have been given permission to hold an evening event on part of this area known as the Pegwell Bay Country Park.

The event will have a six hour time limit for you to run as many, or as few laps as you wish. With a timed event, as long as you complete one lap, then you are an official finisher! We'll start at 17:00 and sun down is 19:30 so you'll be partially in light, then twilight and then finally deep night, all being well on a lovely early Autumnal evening.

You'll be required to bring and use lighting on laps starting after 1930... We're going to be flexible with deciding the route! Mainly as it will depend on the conditions on the day. But the A plan is a 3.28 mile route and will be a mixture of high quality crushed limestone trails, grass trails, tarmac and a little bit of single track. It will all be well marked so don't worry about navigation especially plus as the sun goes down we'll have some "glowy" things and probably some "flashy" things to make things more interesting!

As usual we'll have a well stocked aid station which you'll pass every loop, a unique custom made medal and a goody bag that actually contains goodies which will make the evenings work more than worth it.

It's our aim that this event makes an impactful difference to the Pegwell Bay Country Park in a positive fashion and as such £7.50 from each entry fee will be donated directly to the Park to aid them in maintaining this lovely environment.
